Best Complexity (with complexity vs. without complexity)
This graph demonstrates the relationship between the best individuals
in the population and their complexity. The primary point of interest
is the steady increase of the complexity of the best individuals in
the test that did not use complexity in evaluating fitness, perhaps
indicating that "bigger is better" for playing Othello. The test
that did use complexity in evaluating fitness leveled off at a nearly
constant value. (In fact, most of them were the same individual).
Also see the graph of the average
complexity, which demonstrates the correlation between complexity
and fitness a little better.
