- Internet telephony to hurt major telecom carriers -- A report
prepared by the London consulting firm Philips Tarifica predicts that
Deutsche Telekom, which is the largest telecommunications group in
Europe, will see revenues from international phone calls drop by at
least $171 million in 2001 as the result of cheap Internet telephony,
and that the same fate will befall other major telecoms, including AT&T,
