SIPCbot is an Activeworlds bot that allows avatars
to converse through audio, video and text within the yelling distance.
It will log into a specified world in Activeworlds and will wait for an
avatar to enter its yelling distance. Once the avatar has given SIPCbot
its SIP address, and is within the yelling radius, a SIP session will
initiate between the bot and the avatar. If another avatar enters the
yelling distance, a SIP session will not establish between this avatar
and SIPCbot until the current session has finished.
SIPCbot
does not provide any audio, video, whiteboard and text functionality.
It uses an external application – SIPC, for handling media streams and
whiteboard and text functionality. SIPC is developed by a group of
students at the Internet Real
Time Laboratory of the
Computer Science department at
Columbia University. Please refer to here for the
user manual of SIPC.
