Video Editing Console for Live Internet Sources

Create an application where a SPARCstation or Windows NT workstation with two graphics adapters can be used to create video content based on several streaming video sources received from the network as well as normal X windows, e.g., containing slides or the output of a SoftBoard electronic whiteboard.

Effects include

A user interface on the first monitor allows to place windows, without X decorations, in a tiled or overlapping pattern.

Compare performance of creating a new video window in DCT space or by overlapping windows. (Need both for X windows.) The system should support 640x480 images at full 30 fps.

The studio has at least three cameras: overhead, facing class, facing instructor, but possibly each student has its own camera. Each video source is carried on its own multicast address.

Use Southland MGX graphics board with NTSC output on SPARC Ultra/30.
