We develop computational methods to understand high-throughput biological data. We build probabilistic models, machine-learning methods, and advanced data representations, creating new computational tools to study the dynamics of the microbiome, the evolution of cancer, and the organization of single-cell systems.
What we study
Microbiome Dynamics
Personalized growth rates, contamination correction, pan-metagenomic graphs, and microbiome-based prediction across studies.
Representation & Geometric Learning
Decision trees, random forests, and phylogenetic inference built on non-Euclidean and other advanced representations of biological data.
Cancer Genomics & Single-cell
Metacell inference (SEACells), transcriptomic plasticity in metastasis, and tumor microenvironment analysis at single-cell resolution.
