(1) Do exercises 7.1, 7.2, and 7.4 from Jurafsky & Martin, pp. 247-248.   (If you are not a native speaker of English you should feel free to consult with Prof. Hirschberg, Robert Coyne, or another English speaker.)

(2) Describe any parts of these exercises that you find difficult to do (e.g., you think several different symbols might be used to represent a sound, you think the word might be pronounced in several different ways, etc.).
