HW 3: Reviewing and Comparing Research Papers

40 points for each summary; 20 points for the comparison; Total 100 points.

Write 3 paragraphs on each paper assigned for February 15 (Fackrell & Skut and Ghoshal et al), answering the following questions:

–What is this paper/source about?
–Why is it valuable? (i.e. what contribution does is make?)
–What could be improved? (i.e. what do you thing are its flaws?)

Write a final summarizing paragraph comparing the two papers to each other.

Submission:

Print your essay and hand in at the start of class on Feb. 17 (changed due to snow day). Late papers may be sent in email to coyne@cs.columbia.edu cc'ing julia@cs.columbia.edu.
