Project Final Reports

Project reports are proposals on how you would address one of the problems described in some presentation made during the course.  It may be a sub-problem mentioned by a speaker as part of a larger problem area.  Reports should be 5-7 pages (single-spaced) long with 1 inch margins, Times New Roman 12pt font.  In the report, you should explain:

• the goal of the project
• the problem you intend to solve
• the research hypotheses tested (what question(s) did you want to answer?)
• relevant previous research on this topic
• the novel approaches you propose
• how your approach is related to solutions presented in this class earlier
• how you would measure the success of your proposed work
• proposed data, evaluation metrics, and experiments
• alternative methods or existing results for comparison
• what faculties could you collaborate with (cross disciplinary preferred)
• what equipment and facilities would be required
• approximately how much time would be required to complete the work

You should provide a bibliography of all sources you used in preparing the report, which will not count toward the 5-7pp page limit.  I.e., use additional pages for the bibliography.

These reports are due (submit in Courseworks) on December 17 at 1 pm.   You will give a short presentation on your proposal in class during our final exam period.
