Directions to Arden Homestead

Please note: Arden House and Arden Homestead have separate entrances. The Arden Homestead is approximately 2 1/2 miles further south past the entrance to Arden House. The road to Arden House starts at the Nepera Chemical Company.

From NYC

  1. Take the George Washington Bridge to NJ - use the upper level
  2. Take the 1st exit on right - Palisades Parkway North
  3. Continue on the Palisades Parkway North for approximately 35 miles to exit 18. This is a left side exit.
  4. Proceed to the traffic circle. (1 /4 mile). Proceed around circle to the 2nd exit, follow signs for route 6 and Central Valley.
  5. Proceed over the mountain. Bear left at the top of the mountain and follow signs for Route 6 and Central Valley. Follow Route 6 down the mountain, exit at Suffern/Newburgh sign to traffic light. 6. At the traffic light, turn left, proceed south for 3 /4 miles to the entrance to Arden Homestead. 7.At sign that says "Arden Homestead", turn left, Proceed over Thruway bridge and follow signs to the Homestead (app 1 1/2 miles).

from J. F.K. airport

  1. Follow signs for airport exit and the Van Wyck Expressway. Proceed on the Van Wyck approximately 4 miles to the Grand Central Parkway West
  2. Proceed on the Grand Central Parkway West for approximately 5 miles to the Triboro Bridge.
  3. Cross the bridge. Follow signs for the George Washington Bridge.

From LaGuardia airport

  1. Follow signs for airport exit & Grand Central Parkway West.. Proceed West pn the GC Parkway the Triboro Bridge.
  2. Cross the bridge. Follow signs for the George Washington Bridge.

From Newark airport

  1. Follow signs for airport exit and I-78 West. Proceed on I-78 West for appsix miles to the Garden State Parkway North.
  2. Proceed on the Garden State Parkway north for 30 miles, to the New York State Thruway North (I87). Proceed on Thruway North, approximately 20 miles to exit 16 - Harriman, NY.
  3. Follow directions below for NYS Thruway.

From Stewart Airport

  1. At the airport exit, make a left at the traffic light onto Route 207.
  2. At the next traffic light make a left onto Route 300.
  3. At the next major intersection. make a right onto Route 17 K.
  4. At the next traffic light, make a left onto the New York State Thruway (I-8 7) South.
  5. Follow directions below for NYS Thruway.

From southern Connecticut

  1. Take the Merrit Parkway or I-95 south to Route I-287 West.
  2. I-287 West (Cross Westchester Exp) the Tappan Zee Bridge. Proceed over bridge.
  3. Proceed North on NYS Thruway to exit #16 (app 30 miles)
  4. Follow directions below for NYS Thruway.

From northern Connecticut

  1. Take Route I-84 West to the Newburggh-Beacon Bridge.
  2. Proceed on I-84 West to New York State Thruway (I-87), app. 5 miles.
  3. Follow signs for NYS Thruway (1-87 south). Proceed on I-87 for 1 exit, to exit 16 (app. 15 miles)
  4. Follow directions below for NYS Thruway.

New York State Thruway exit directions

  1. Exit the NYS Thruvay at exit 16
  2. Bear right after going through the toll booth and take the first exit
  3. Make a left at the traffic light at the end of exit ramp.
  4. Proceed through 4 traffic lights.
  5. after the fifth traffic light, proceed another 2 1/4 miles to the entrance to the Homestead. Make a left at the sign reading "Arden Homestead" and proceed over NYS. Thruway bridge, follow signs up the hill to the Homestead (app. 1.5 miles).
