A tribute to my friend Danny Lewin:
1970-2001
Danny was killed on 09/11/2001 aboard flight 11 that was later crashed into the WTC by four terrorists. Danny, a former officer of Sayeret Matkal (Isreal's elite commando unit) died while fighting the hijackers.
During his PhD studies at MIT Danny co-founded Akamai Technologies with prof. Tom Leighton. Danny was an extremely talented and driven individual. He strove for excellence in all his academic and business pursuits. Most importantly he always greeted everyone with a smile and never-ending enthusiasm. This is why everyone who ever came in contact with him remembers Danny as a close friend.
Danny is survived by his wife and two sons.
