I was a PhD student in Columbia University's Natural Language Processing Group. My advisor was Kathy McKeown.

My main research interest and dissertation topic is discourse, dialog and narrative; more generally, my interests cover natural language processing, speech and symbolic AI. I successfully defended my thesis, Modeling Narrative Discourse [PDF], in September 2011 and graduated in May 2012.

I now work at Google, in their Speech group.

I separately worked here as a programmer, where I was involved with the Newsblaster project for Prof. McKeown as well as the CLiMB project for Judith Klavans.
